Rugby League Betting
Rugby League Betting with William Hill is bigger and better than ever for Super League XIII. There are so many markets, and new ones for 2008, that we thought we’d better talk you through what’s available on the live games.
Choose a market from the list below and you’ll be taken to the description.
We’ll give one team a start (a handicap). You predict who’ll win when the handicap is added to the final score. For example, Wakefield might get a 14 point start at Leeds. If Leeds win the match 20-12, the final score on the handicap is 20-26. Leeds win the match; Wakefield win on the handicap. We also offer up to four Alternative Handicaps if you don’t like the first handicap we’re offering.

No Handicap to worry about here. Just predict who’ll win the match in 80 minutes. Or back the draw at 18/1 or bigger if you’re predicting a tight tussle.

Saints by 11-15; Bradford by 21-25? Your task is to predict who’ll win, and by how big a margin. We’ve made it easier by bracketing the potential winning margins into bands of five points.

“The Dozen” Winning Margin Betting:
With less to choose from than with the five point winning margin, “The Dozen” means you predict who will win and whether it will be a close game or a trouncing. Leeds by 12 or less? Wigan by 13 or more? Simple Winning Margin betting.

You need the leader at half-time, and the winner after 80 minutes to land this bet. But beware of the draw here – there’s usually a good chance they’ll be level at the break!

While the players are sucking their oranges and the spectators are queueing for a pint and a pie, you could be cashing in a winning bet if you predict the outcome after 40 minutes play. This could also be available with a handicap if we think it’s not the closest of games.

First or Last Try Scorer Betting:
Great fun this bet. Just predict who’ll score the first or last try of the match, and if you do you’re sure of a great return. The favourite here is often as big as 10/1. It’s the Rugby League version of the Grand National!
Betting Index
Finding it too hard to predict who will score the first or the last try? Have a bet on a player to score a try at any time during the game. The odds are smaller than on the first or last but if you know of a player in a bit of form then this could be the bet for you.

First/Last Team To Score A Try Betting:
Can’t pick a player? Well we’ll make it easier and offer you a bet on which team will score the first or last try.
Betting Index
We’ll have a guess on how many points will be scored in a given match (and that’s all it ever is!). You predict whether we’re too high or too low. Or get a 7/1 return if you think we’re spot-on!
Betting Index
Are the teams big scorers? Can one of them not stop leaking tries? Will the rain cause a few handling problems? Take these and more factors into account when deciding whether each team will score more or fewer tries than our prediction. For example, we’ll offer Harlequins to score under or over 3.5 tries.
Betting Index
Which team will be quickest out of the blocks and be first to post ten points on the board? If it’s a low scoring and game and neither reach the target you’ll get your money back.
Betting Index
This could be another quick return bet to keep you interested in the opening minutes. How will the first points be registered? A Castleford try, a Wakefield goal…
Betting Index
Not something many viewers would consider cheering on but don’t let it stop you! Which of the teams will be the first to take a drop out from under the posts?

Half with most points Betting:
Keeping you interested through the second half, this bet allows you to support both sides at once. You could be cheering on the tries, screaming for them to “take two” from a penalty or getting behind the defensive efforts of both teams. You’ll know at half time whether you need there to be more or fewer points scored in the second half depending on which way you backed. The tie’s available too.
Betting Index
McGuire v Barrett? Penny v Hape? The winner is the player who scores the most tries in the game.
